Cleaning Tips

Your home should be a wonderful place to live. Carpet, rugs and furniture add to the overall attractiveness of your home.

When it comes to maintaining your carpet, one of the most critical areas is the high traffic areas. Maintaining the beauty of these common areas is important for maintaining the appeal of your home. If dirt is not removed on a regular basis, these traffic areas will be prone to excessive wear. Below are a number of steps you can follow to help maintain your carpeting.

Removing Moisture

When removing moisture from a spill on the carpet use paper towel or a clean cloth and dab from the outside in. Don’t rub or scrub as you will damage the carpet fibres.

Read The Instructions

Always read the instructions before using any spot or stain remover as they can stain or even bleach your carpet if not used correctly.

Care of your carpet starts with vacuuming. Carpet should be vacuumed at least every week if not more on heavy traffic carpets. This prevents the build up of grit that begins to cut the fibres in your carpet, therefore damaging it.

Crevice Tool

Every few weeks the crevice tool should be pulled out and used in those… hard to get areas…for best results use a power head on your vacuum where possible.

Remove Stains Immediately

If you spill anything on the carpet, your best chance to remove most stubborn stains is immediately. Whilst we will always do our utmost to remove stains when we clean your carpet, some stains left to long will remain if they are not attended to ASAP.
